Editorial Guidelines & Fact-Checking Standards
Our Commitment to Accuracy, Objectivity, and Independence
1. Core Editorial Philosophy
At Insurance Ideas Inc., our primary mandate is to furnish readers with honest, unvarnished, and mathematically sound financial and risk intelligence. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of financial journalism.
2. Three-Tier Fact-Checking Process
Every article published undergoes rigorous multi-stage review:
- Primary Research & Citation: Writers must rely on authoritative primary sources, including Federal Reserve data, NAIC statutory reports, SEC filings, and peer-reviewed actuarial journals.
- Actuarial / Financial Verification: Numerical calculations, yields, and policy structures are tested independently by our review board.
- Copy & Clarity Audit: Articles are checked for readability, unbiased phrasing, and balanced perspective.
3. Separation of Editorial and Commercial Interests
Our editorial decisions are made completely independently of our advertising relationships. Sponsors, advertisers, or affiliate partners (including Sovrn Commerce and programmatic ad exchanges) have zero influence over article topics, rating outcomes, or product evaluations.
4. Corrections Policy
When an error occurs, we correct it promptly and transparently. We add a clear correction notice at the bottom of the affected article specifying what was updated and the date of modification. Readers are encouraged to submit factual corrections to ideas@insuranceideasinc.blog.
